Multidetector CT is proving a good competitor to MRI for aortic arch abnormalities. This 28 yr old man has had two repairs of an interrupted aortic arch. 3D reconstructions are shown in left anterior oblique (LAO) and posterior projections. Both were tube grafts. The earlier one (A) is the lower and smaller, and is stenosed at its distal anastomosis. The larger, later repair (B) is between the base of the left carotid artery and the descending aorta below the first repair. On the posterior view you can see the left subclavian artery (arrowed) arising from the aorta beyond the first repair- the interruption was between it and the left carotid.
