Image 1 is of a ten year old with complex arch coarctation, due to be stented, showing some fullness of the right upper mediastinum, which is of little consequence. However, image 2 is a few years later, with a good stent clearly visible. The very prominent right upper mediastinal bulge was of immediate concern, raising suspicions of ascending aortic aneurysm or even a false aneurysm related in some way to the intervention. She went forward to MRI and cardiac catheterisation.
