I am glad that this is a rarity, it was supposed to be a right atrial angiogram but the catheter was too close to the atrial wall and most of the contrast has been squirted into the pericardial cavity. The patient came to no harm. The images afford us an excellent demonstration of the pericardial cavity, and in particular its extent over and above the origin of the great vessels..
